My pick for Game of the Show would have to go to Battle Realms from Liquid. Not what you'd expect, and it wasn't exactly a huge stand out title ala Halo or Doom 3, but it deserves credit simply for doing the RTS thing quite differently rather than churning out a Warcraft or Command & Conquer clone. For one, the oriental setting means that instead of collecting gold or lumber the resources are, get this, water and rice. Seriously. Strange as it may sound though I do like the idea. You also don't build troops with resources. Instead, one building automatically generates a peasant now and again. You can then either keep him as a lowly farmer or teach him archery or swordsmanship, which costs you resources, and from there they can continue training until they become deadly Samurai. Resources aren't used to upgrade buildings though, instead you gain yin or yang depending on your actions in battle and these can be spent on upgrading buildings to produce betters troops and the like. Kill some innocent peasants and you'll gain yin (or is it yang, my memory fails me) but if you slaughter the enemy with ruthless efficiency you'll gain yang (or yin - I really gotta brush up on my knowledge of all things oriental). I also thought the visuals looked up to scratch but you can of course judge for yourself in the shots opposite.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon was there too, though it clearly needs a lot of work still. All the missions aren't in yet, and even at a mere 800x600x16 this thing was crawling along like an obese geriatric wearing lead clogs. Hopefully they'll get it running smoothly by the time of release, but as I believe that's in a few short months they'd better get a move on. Other than that it's pretty much looking like Rainbow Six outdoors with a semi-decent terrain engine. The only notable feature was what I though looked like an even simpler mission planning interface - even the guy demonstrating it couldn't think of any other differences, but then he wasn't one of the developers.
Also from Ubi Soft was some Batman game, Myst III and a multiplayer Rayman title both of which I paid about as much attention to as I would a 90 year old in a bikini.
